What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website or service can store in your browser. Similar technologies can use browser or device identifiers to measure visits and interactions. Some technologies are needed to deliver a website; others help its operator understand how the website is used.
Strictly necessary storage
One item is stored on your device without asking, because it is what remembers your answer to the question: the entry cleverai_consent_v1, kept in your browser's local storage. It records which categories you accepted or rejected and when, so the banner does not reappear on every page. It is not a cookie, is never sent to our servers, contains no identifier for you, and is not used for measurement.
Under the ePrivacy Directive Article 5(3) and CNIL guidance, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user asked for is exempt from consent — but not from being disclosed, which is why it is listed here. Beyond this entry, nothing is stored on your device until you opt in.
Analytics used by CleverAI
The CleverAI website currently uses these analytics services:
- Vercel Web Analytics. Aggregate traffic and page performance measurement. It loads on every visit, including before you answer the banner and if you reject analytics, because Vercel operates it without cookies and without storing an identifier on your device — which is what makes it exempt from consent. We set no cookie for it ourselves. Vercel documents its own processing.
- Google Analytics. Google Analytics helps us understand pages viewed, referral sources, general device information, approximate geography, and patterns of interaction. It sets first-party cookies — typically
_gaand a_ga_-prefixed cookie, though Google controls the exact set — and transfers data to Google LLC in the United States, so it is loaded only after you opt in to the Analytics category in our consent banner. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, the Google tag is never requested and no Google cookie is set. Google controls how its technology works and describes its processing in its own privacy documentation.
Why we use analytics
We use analytics to understand whether the website is useful, find technical problems, improve navigation and content, and measure broad traffic trends. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share the data it produces. Analytics is never a condition of using the site: every page and the contact form work identically whether you accept or reject.
How to give or withdraw consent
On your first visit a consent banner appears before any non-essential technology loads. You can Accept all, Reject all — which leaves only strictly necessary cookies — or Customize to toggle each category on its own. Continuing to browse without choosing is not treated as consent.
You can change your mind at any time through the Cookie settings link in the site footer, which clears the stored choice and brings the banner back. Failing that, remove the cleverai_consent_v1entry from your browser's local storage.
How to control cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their privacy settings. Blocking cookies may change the way some websites work, although the public CleverAI pages and contact form do not require Google Analytics cookies to function. You can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Browser privacy tools and network-level content blockers may offer additional controls.
